In about a week, Windows Vista is set to be unleashed on the consumer market. Vista is being touted by Microsoft as the most secure version of the Windows operating system yet, and that is probably true. However, that does not mean it is invulnerable. Consumers will still need to use basic security software such as antivirus to protect their Windows Vista systems.
According to a report on Information Week, a number of vendors, including Microsoft, are providing free downloads, Beta tests, or trial versions of their Vista-compatible security products. You can check out these products if you need antivirus and desktop security for your Vista PC:
